We are pleased to announce that Randall Stephenson, Chairman and CEO of AT&T, has been appointed to the FCLTGlobal Board of Directors, and Larry Fink, Chairman and CEO of BlackRock, and Nitin Nohria, Ph.D and Dean of Harvard Business School, will serve as Strategic Advisors.
Stephenson, who has been at the helm of AT&T since 2007, was previously the senior executive vice president and CFO of Southwestern Bell Telephone from 2001-2004, and the company’s COO. He is a member of the board of directors of Emerson Electric Co. and Boeing, a member of the PGA TOUR Policy Board, and the National President of the Boy Scouts of America.
Fink, named as one of the “World’s Most Respected Leaders” by Fortune in 2016, has grown BlackRock into a global leader in investment management, risk management and advisory services for institutional and retail clients. Fink is a strong advocate of long-termism and urges companies to adopt balanced capital plans that support strategies for long-term value creation and growth.
Nohria, who joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 1988 and has been dean since 2010, also sits on the board of directors of Tata Sons and Massachusetts General Hospital, and is an advisor to the Piramal Group. Nohria has written that the “tension between long-term intention and short-term action is one of the great challenges of modern management” and regularly addresses the importance of creating a long-term ecosystem.
We’re delighted these business leaders have agreed to serve the mission of FCLTGlobal, and we look forward to working with them to encourage more long-termism in business and investment decision-making.
