Appointment coincides with APG becoming latest FCLTGlobal Member
Boston, MA, 19 January 2021 – FCLTGlobal, a non-profit organization that develops research and tools that encourage long-term business and investing, announced today that Ronald Wuijster (CEO, APG Asset Management) has joined its board of directors. APG Asset Management, the largest pension provider in the Netherlands, formally became a member of FCLTGlobal in January 2021.
Ronald Wuijster is APG’s Executive Board member responsible for asset management and serves as CEO of APG Asset Management N.V. Ronald has over 20 years of investment experience, including 16 years in commercial asset management and 5 years in pension fund management. From 2010 to 2017, Ronald served as Chief Client Officer and then as Chief Investment Officer at APG Asset Management. Ronald worked as Managing Director Strategic Portfolio Management from 2006 to 2010, first at ABP and from 2008 at APG. Before Ronald joined ABP, he worked at Robeco Groep N.V. where he initially started in 1990 as Senior Portfolio Manager and went on to hold various managing directorships in the areas of corporate strategy, development, equities, private equity and research, among other positions until he joined Dutch pension fund, ABP in 2006. Ronald studied Business Economics and law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Finance and Accounting at the London School of Economics in London and Psychology at Leiden University.
FCLTGlobal’s board directors hold leadership roles in the institute’s member organizations. Members participate in action-oriented programming, fund ongoing operations, and actively contribute to current research initiatives that promote long-term oriented strategies for companies and investors worldwide.

Alongside Wuijster’s appointment, APG Asset Management became a Member of FCLTGlobal on 1 January. As the largest pension provider in the Netherlands, APG looks after the pensions of 4.7 million participants. APG works for pension funds and employers in the sectors of education, government, construction, cleaning, housing associations, sheltered employment organizations, medical specialists, and architects. APG manages approximately €564 billion (December 2020) in pension assets. With approximately 3,000 employees it works from Heerlen, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
