Boston, MA — FCLTGlobal, a non-profit organization whose mission is to focus capital on the long term to support a sustainable and prosperous economy, announced today that Dr. Raphael Arndt, Chief Executive Officer of Future Fund, and Hein Schumacher, Chief Executive Officer of Unilever, will join its board of directors effective 1 July 2024.

FCLTGlobal was founded in 2016 to develop actionable research and tools used to drive long-term value creation for savers and communities. Its members, comprised of the world’s leading companies and investment organizations, contribute to research initiatives and programs that promote long-term oriented strategies for companies and investors worldwide.

Dr. Raphael Arndt has been Chief Executive Officer of Future Fund since July 2020. He served as the Chief Investment Officer of Future Fund from 2014 to 2020 and was previously Future Fund’s Head of Infrastructure and Timberland, where he was responsible for establishing both the Infrastructure and Timberland investment programs. Dr. Arndt is also a Board Member of the Melbourne Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, Australia’s largest community foundation.

Hein Schumacher was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Unilever in July 2023 and is responsible for leading one of the world’s largest and most geographically diverse consumer goods businesses, with presence in 190 countries, serving 3.4 billion people. Schumacher was CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina, from January 2018 to May 2023. During that time, Hein delivered significant portfolio and organization change as part of transforming it into a more focused, growth-driven and sustainable business. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Hein was Royal FrieslandCampinas’s Chief Financial Officer for three years.

Alongside these two additions, John Graham, President and CEO of CPP Investments, has been named the new Chair of FCLTGlobal’s board of directors, effective September 1, 2024. Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara, Executive Director and CEO of Temasek Holdings, will serve as Vice Chair. Graham, who has been a member of FCLTGlobal’s board since 2021, will continue CPP Investments’ legacy of shaping capital markets with a strategic long-term perspective. CPP Investments is the co-Founder of FCLTGlobal having led the joint initiative that led to the creation of FCLTGlobal in 2016.

Being appointed as the Chair of the FCLTGlobal Board is a privilege, and I am looking forward to contributing to this significant mission.”

Adena Friedman, Chair and CEO of Nasdaq; Alan Jope, former CEO of Unilever; Kewsong Lee, current CEO of BellTower Partners LLC and former CEO of Carlyle; and Theresa J. Whitmarsh, former CEO of WSIB will step down upon the completion of their terms and will assume the role of Strategic Advisors.
